Comforter is pretty, but is very heavy and hot |

This is a beautiful comforter and has exactly the colors and design that I wanted. However, the fabric is quite nubby and heavy ( particularly the side with the bird design) and the batting inside is very thick and substantial. It made me uncomfortably hot. Today I took a seam ripper to this comforter and removed the batting. I was going to replace it with a very thin batting, but the fabric is so heavy, I have decided to just put a heavier blanket on the bed and forego replacing the batting and use it just as it is without any batting.
